Overview
RSI Overbought/Oversold is a straightforward reversal strategy built around the classic Relative Strength Index.
It is designed to detect stretched momentum conditions and turn them into clear, rule-based entry signals. This makes it suitable for traders who prefer a simple reversal model based on overbought and oversold levels.
Signal Logic
The strategy monitors RSI for signs that momentum may be reaching exhaustion.
A sell signal appears when RSI rises into overbought territory.
A buy signal appears when RSI falls into oversold territory.
This creates a reversal-oriented signal model based on momentum extremes. The sensitivity of RSI and the threshold levels can be adjusted, allowing the strategy to react faster or more selectively depending on the market and trading style.
RSI
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Period | Defines how many bars are used to calculate the RSI. Smaller period = more reactive RSI and more frequent signals, but also more noise. Bigger period = smoother and more conservative behavior, with fewer signals. |
| Smooth | Applies additional smoothing to the RSI line to reduce noise and make signals more stable. Smaller value = less smoothing, faster reactions, and more signal noise. Bigger value = more smoothing, cleaner and more stable RSI behavior, but slower reactions. |
RSI lower
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Value | Sets the oversold threshold used to detect potential long entry conditions. Smaller value = fewer entries — only deep oversold conditions. Best paired with fast RSI to avoid endless signals. Bigger value = more entries, mild dips trigger signals. Best paired with slow RSI for balanced behavior. |
RSI upper
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Value | Sets the overbought threshold used to detect potential short entry conditions. Smaller value = More signals, more sensitive to momentum peaks. Works better with larger RSI periods. Bigger value = fewer signals, only extreme overbought conditions trigger signals. Works well with small RSI periods to cut noise. |
Common Features
Each strategy has its own signal logic, but installation, setup, and trade management are identical across the product line. Once you know how to use one, you know how to use the rest.
